Mold needs moisture and time
Mold spores are present in most indoor environments. They become a problem when moisture remains in materials long enough for growth to start, often within 24 to 48 hours on organic surfaces.
Hidden moisture is the usual cause
Water that reaches wall cavities, under flooring, or inside cabinetry may not be visible on the surface. Surface wiping does not address mold growing behind or beneath materials.
Do not disturb visible mold
Scrubbing or cutting into moldy areas without containment can spread spores to clean parts of the building. Professional remediation uses containment, HEPA filtration, and safe removal methods.
Remediation includes fixing the source
Removing mold without correcting the moisture source leads to repeat growth. A complete plan identifies how water entered, dries or removes affected materials, treats the area, and verifies conditions before rebuild.
